The International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) Innovation Awards program recognizes public sector projects and initiatives that improve government service delivery and efficiency.
These awards will recognize governmental entities (such as agencies, boards, commissions, rating bureaus, councils, and courts) that administer and regulate workers’ compensation acts, systems, and schemes. Submissions should focus on improvements in the business of workers’ compensation in government through the strategic use of an innovation.
Nominations will be evaluated by members of the IAIABC Education Subcommittee. Honorees will present and be recognized at the 102nd IAIABC Convention in Portland, Maine, on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016. This program will be an opportunity for honorees to present and highlight their innovation during this show-and-tell style presentation.
Judging Criteria
Submissions should focus on improvements in the business of workers’ compensation in government to describe the business need that necessitated the project and how the project succeeded, including:
- Business proposition: A clear statement of the business problem and its target audience.
- Innovation merit: Describe your approach in solving the problem. What innovative tools, technologies, resources, and approaches (new or existing) did you leverage and/or implement?
- Success and Teamwork: How well did the project attain its stated business goals and objectives? How did teamwork contribute to the success? Clearly link the outcome to the business proposition.
- Value: Note quantitative metrics (usage, transaction times, cost and staff savings/avoidance and return on investment) and qualitative benefits (improvements to citizen, trading partners, and/or employee experience, etc.).
