One of the major benefits of attendance at the 71st annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference is the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Units. Here is a listing of the available certifications for qualifying participants.
Adjuster/Agent CEU Certification
For a complete list of all courses approved for adjuster/agent credit, check with the Continuing Education desk in the registration area. To obtain credit, attendees must register at the Continuing Education desk, present a photo ID with license number, and obtain documentation to record your attendance. In order to obtain credit, you must attend the entirety of the session. Attendee are responsible for recording their own attendance on the forms provided.
Certified Healthcare Risk Manager (CHRM)
Application will be made with the International Commission on Health Care Certification. Visit the Medical CE Booth in the Crystal Registration Area for a listing of specific course approvals and information.
Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP)
Application will be made with the International Commission on Health Care Certification for continuing education approval. Visit the Medical CE Booth in the Crystal Registration Area for a listing of specific course approvals and information.
Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE)
It is the responsibility of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) member to review program content and determine the eligibility and number of applicable hours of educational programming for continuing education credit. ACMPE participants may individually apply for continuing education credit based on the one or more of the eight management domains as determined by the member. Certified Medicare Secondary Payor Professional (CMSP)
Application will be made with LASIE for continuing education approval. Visit the Medical CE Booth in the Crystal Registration Area for a listing of specific course approvals and information.
Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP)
Application will be made with LASIE for continuing education approval. Visit the Medical CE Booth in the Crystal Registration Area for a listing of specific course approvals and information.
Charter Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCUs)
CPCUs attending this program will be awarded 20 points under the Continuing Professional Development program for CPCUs.
CMP Safety Credits
This event may be eligible for CM Credit. See the ABIH website for CM credit criteria.
Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS)
The International Risk Management Institute (IRMI) has approved the 71st Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference and 28th Annual Safety and Health Conference for CRIS reaccreditation. Attendees will need to submit a copy of their certificate of attendance documenting that they have attended at least seven hours of educational sessions during the conference to continuingeducation@irmi.com. They will then be provided with a voucher number that they can use to file for reaccreditation credit.
Continuing Legal Education
You must be a registered attendee to receive Continuing Legal Education credits. Registered participants who wish to receive credits should complete required bar information forms that can be obtained at the Continuing Legal Education desk. Note: Individual reporting online is required for some states. Course credit approval is pending through numerous state bars. CLE/MCLE approvals by State.
Mediators Continuing Education
Mediators can obtain continuing education credit as required by various jurisdictions. Individual jurisdictions may require special filings. Check at the Continuing Education desk. Information about CME credits.
Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant (MSCC)
Application will be made to the International Commission on Health Care Certification for continuing education approval. Visit the Medical CE Booth located in the Crystal Registration Area for a listing of specific course approvals and information.
Nursing, CCM, CDMS, CRC, CVE
1.) RN/LPN/ARNP – Application will be made for nursing contact hours. Florida nurses are required to provide their license numbers in order to post credits into CE Broker.
2.) CCM, CDMS, CRC, CVE – Application will be made to the Case Manager Certification Commission for continuing education approval.
Application will be made to the Certified Disability Manager Specialists Commission for continuing education approval. No Ethics credits are applicable.
Application will be made to the Certified Rehabilitation Counselors Commission for continuing education approval. No Ethics credits are applicable.
Application will be made to CCWAVES for continuing education approval.
After checking in at conference registration, you must also visit the Medical CE Booth located in the Crystal Registration area to obtain further materials for CE credit. This information is not included in the general conference handouts. Not all conference sessions offer continuing education credit. You must be a registered attendee to receive continuing education materials. Be prepared to show your conference badge at the Medical CE Booth.
All CE verification materials must be returned, in person, to the Medical CE area by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016. Continuing education credit verification materials will not be accepted by any other means, nor will any continuing education credit be issued after the close of the conference.
Paralegals Continuing Education
Generally, paralegals and legal assistants can obtain credit for courses that have been approved for continuing legal education. Some jurisdictions may provide otherwise. Check at the Continuing Education desk.
PHR, SPHR and GPHR Recertification Credits
Human Resource attendees may submit the 71st Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference to the HR Certification Institute for recertification credit on an hour-for-hour basis of HR educational content time.
Physical Therapy Credits
Application will be made for Florida PT continuing education credit. Visit the Medical CE Booth in the Crystal Registration Area for a listing of specific course approvals.
Physician Credits
Application will be made for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit. Visit the Medical CE Booth in the Crystal Ballroom Area for further information.
All conference CME verification materials must be returned to the Medical CE area by 4:00 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016. Continuing education credit materials will not be accepted by any other means, nor will any continuing education credit be issued beyond that time.
Safety Certification
Participants holding the CSP certification interested in counting Continuance of Certification (COC) points for the safety track should review the BCSP Continuance of Certification Guide or contact the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) directly at 217-359-9263 or visit their website at www.bcsp.org for more information. OSHA General Industry Certification certificates will be presented to attendees that complete the 10-Hour Course being offered.
